The Jim & Mary Lee Museum at Port Warren Park Open

The Jim and Mary Lee Museum, located in Port Warren Park, 477 County Route 519, Stewartsville, is housed in a former Morris Canal plane tender’s house that also was the long-time home of noted Morris Canal historian Jim Lee and his wife, Mary. Visitors can walk the inclined plane, have a guided tour of the remains of the powerhouse, turbine chamber and tailrace, and see canal artifacts on display in the museum and on the grounds. This museum is open from April through October, on the second Sunday of each month (except for major holidays when it will be open on the third Sunday). Tours are given at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 pm. Volunteers will be on hand during hours of operation to interpret the models and answer your questions.
